Getting Good
Recently, I came across a new song released by Lauren Alaina titled “Getting Good.”
In this song she talks about all of the different things that sometimes we begin to think that “once we have it, maybe that's when life starts getting good.” Whether that be love.. more money.. a new car.. a bigger house.. etc. etc... And she then refers to the fact that once we attain those things, we realize that it wasn't enough and that we want more... we didn't really receive the satisfaction we were looking for in those things.
So then, the best part of the song, she says:
"I'm thinking, once I learn to grow right where I'm planted
Maybe that's when life starts getting good"
While listening to it, I couldn't help but think about our girls at the Hope House! This year, the theme here in the girls home is ‘Flourish.’
It's true that if we're distracted by anything else besides what the Lord has placed in front of us in this moment, we might not be able to flourish as well as He intended for us to. If we're looking for satisfaction from anything else, we will not be able to find it.
It is so necessary that we are growing wherever it is that we're planted & that our satisfaction is coming from that and being in the middle of the Lord's will for our lives.
Would you join me in praying that for the 60 girls who currently call the Hope House their home, that they would learn to grow right where they're planted and be able to flourish to the fullest this year?
